About Quiver

Welcome to the World of Quiver

Quiver AeroPoint.50

Quiver AeroPoint.50

Well, hello there!

If you are thinking: where am I? – your on the Quiverblog.

And if your wondering: ok, but what on earth is a Quiver? – allow us to explain.

We’re Stephen, Kieran and Emma – a.k.a. Team Quiver – and this is the story of a Scottish company bringing a world-beating (we hope) product to market. The story starts with comet dust – no, really – and ends with the Quiver Aeropoint.50.

The Quiver is quite simply, the best bottle insulator on the planet.  It keeps your choice of drink colder for longer.  Up to 10 times longer.

We think that’s pretty cool.

But how can this be possible?  Read on….

The ‘About Quiver’ page is designed as your introduction to Quiver, on this page you will find:
QUIVER SHOWCASE – A short animation introducing you to the product.
MEET THE TEAM – Who are we and what do we do?
TIMELINE – Why’s it taken so long to get here?
THE QUIVER NAME – The surprising explanation of an interesting name.
AEROGEL – A little insight into our magic ingredient.

We hope you enjoy your time on Quiver Blog, which is nothing without your feedback so please comment on anything you see. Please note that for the next few weeks pretty much all of the pages will be changing as we settle in
Cheers

The Quiver timeline

Here’s a wee widget to see how we’ve got to where we are today. Putting it together was a scary experience, looking into how long everything took and justifying our existence over the last few years, but it’s really quite cool.

If you grab one of the ‘handles’ either side of the dark blue base bar and drag it the time scale will shrink or expand so you can zoom in on events and spread them out. You can then put your mouse over the highlighted section (between the handles) and drag it along the time scale. Thanks to the chaps at Time Toast for such a great widget.

The Quiver Name

Our logo and the origin of Quiver brand came from an interesting place. On honeymoon in South Africa, Stephen came across a Kokerboom tree a.k.a The Quiver Tree.

The quiver tree is no ordinary tree. Oh no, the quiver tree has many useful properties one of which is the use of it’s trunk as a natural refrigerator!! The fibrous tissue present in the trunk mean that anything stored inside a hollowed out trunk is kept cool by the air flowing through it!! That’s not all, the quiver tree also stores water in its branches and trunk providing a valuable source of water should there be no other water around.

Coincidence or fate?

Take a look at David Attenbourough’s video about the Quiver Tree on the GLA to CA page

Aerogel

What makes our product perform so effectively? Well, there are a number of things but first and foremost it’s our magic ingredient that does the trick. We could witter on and try and explain things, but the creators (Aspen) have already done the hard work for us, so sit back and take a look:
